In 1983 and 1993, Alan and Lydia Smith and other contributors put together 15th and 25th anniversary booklets for the CLA/CLCF/CMC about the history of conservation in the Chocorua Lake Basin.
To celebrate the CLC’s 50 years of stewardship, Ruth Weld and Bonnie Hurd Smith have volunteered to lead an effort to create an updated 50th Anniversary Book about the history of the Chocorua Lake Basin.
The chapters are being written by CLC members and friends, and the finished book will include chapters about the basin’s unique artistic, literary, cultural, social, and natural history. The aim is to showcase the timeless qualities of the basin as well as the immense effort that goes into keeping it that way.
Copies of the book will be available for sale starting in August 2018.
