Are you looking for an opportunity to learn more about New Hampshire forestry and wildlife, meet and learn from professionals in natural resources, and give back to your community? The UNH Cooperative Extension and NH Fish and Game are working together to offer the 2022 NH Coverts Project starting in April. The program takes place over one Zoom evening in late April and three in-person days at different locations on Fridays in May. There is a registration fee, but all other program expenses are covered.
Click HERE for more information and to apply.
Participants commit to investing 40 hours of volunteer time after completing the program, and it provides a wealth of information and opportunities to make connections with professionals and other volunteers. Participants in the NH Coverts Project can volunteer in multiple ways, taking their knowledge and skills back to share with their community and apply to their own lands.
The CLC would be happy to accept your volunteer time! We are always looking for volunteers to help us with stewardship of the lands we own, including helping us with natural resource inventories, planning trails, managing for wildlife, annual monitoring, participating in committee work, and leading walks or stewardship days. Knowing what is on the lands we own helps us to make decisions related to management, including choosing to leave forests as unmanaged open space. We can always use extra eyes and ears on the ground, and have many opportunities for volunteers to follow their interests.
We hope you’ll check out the link above, think about applying, and consider volunteering with any organization that would benefit from your experiences and interests. If you’d like to volunteer with CLC, please fill out a volunteer form on our website and we’ll be in touch!
